Importing to the U.S. — FAQ
Q: Do I have to pay U.S. import duties when buying from Qulbix?
Yes. Import duties apply to all U.S. imports. The exact rate depends on the product and country of origin of the bike or parts.
Q: What is the duty rate for bikes made in Slovenia?
As of September 25, 2025, the U.S. import duty for e-bikes, frames and other products made in Slovenia by Qulbix is 15% (for ex. e-bike HS Code is: 8711.60.00.90).
Q: What if the bike (or components) is shipped from China or another country of origin?
In this case, the duty rate is different. Our web shop automatically calculates import duties and taxes at checkout, so you’ll see the full cost before completing your payment.
Q: Will the duty amount change?
Yes, probably. Import duty rates are set by U.S. Customs and may change at any time. Please take this into account when ordering, since standard production time is usually 4–6 weeks.
Q: How do I pay the U.S. import duty?
We use DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Incoterms. This means you pay the import duties and taxes directly to Qulbix at checkout, and we handle customs clearance and delivery to your door.
Q: Will I face extra customs charges upon delivery?
No. Because we ship under DDP service, there are no additional fees when the bike is delivered — all costs are included in your checkout quote.
Q: How can I confirm the exact duty rate?
For the latest information, you can:
- Check with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Or email us at info@qulbix.com, and we’ll provide the most up-to-date details.
