Q76 Series

The Q76 Frame remains one of Qulbix’s most sought-after electric bike and DIY frame models, continuing its legacy of innovation since its introduction in 2014.

Qulbix Q76 DIY Frame Kit for Electric Bike
Key Feature #1

Battery compartment

The Q76 frame is designed for an internally installed battery and is not primarily meant for frequent swaps. However, a battery swap can still be done in 5-10 minutes—simply unscrew ten M5 bolts on the right side, remove the plate, and replace the battery.

Key features:

  • The Q76 frame supports various Li-ion battery cells, including 21700 and 18650, for customizable battery packs;
  • Choose between building your own battery pack or using Qulbix-manufactured packs equipped with a high-performance dynamic BMS for safety and warranty coverage;
  • The outer shell safeguards the battery from water, dirt, and potential impact damage, such as in a crash;
  • The battery is inserted from the right side of the frame. The left-side plate must be permanently mounted and sealed to ensure a completely waterproof enclosure, while the removable right-side plate features a foam seal for added protection;
  • A foam-padded compartment secures the battery, minimising vibrations;
  • The charging port is conveniently positioned on top of the frame for quick and easy on-site charging.
Key Feature #2

New Charge Plug

An XT60 charge plug is used, consisting of male and female connectors. Solder the male XT60 connector to the charger and the female connector to the battery pack’s BMS. The female XT60 plug, equipped with a rubber seal cap, is securely bolted to the top of the frame.

Key Feature #3

New Graphics

New decals are available in a variety of color options. For a fresh, clean look, choose a white-based frame, or go for a black color scheme if you prefer a darker aesthetic.

Key Feature #4

More (5x) Cable Inlet Openings & Adjustable Rear Shock Bracket

What’s new:

  • We introduced more cable inlet openings, five in total, all sealed by a rubber seals, ensuring a watertight connection;
  • The rear shock bracket features additional mounting holes, allowing you to adjust the ride height. You can also rotate the bracket 180 degrees, providing even more setup options.
Key Feature #5

New Handlebar Lock Feature

The frame is designed for fork models with an angular key-lock, securing the handlebar when parked to help prevent theft. A welded ring on the lower part of the frame allows the key-lock’s pin to interlock securely. It supports FastAce and DNM forks with lock installation capability, with FastAce fork and lock available in the Qulbix shop.

Key Feature #6

New Moto Seat

The redesigned moto seat is now more level, with reduced forward pitch and higher-density foam for improved durability and support. The firmer foam enhances longevity and is better for riding and pedalling. The seating surface measures 350 mm in length and 165 mm in width (75 mm at its narrowest point), offering solid support while ensuring sufficient leg clearance.

Key Feature #7

Two Motor Options Within One Frame

Compatible with both hub (e.g., QS 205 50H V3 and QS 273) and mid-drive motors (e.g., Bafang BBSHD 1000W, BBS02B 750W, BBS01B 500W – 250W), with only the swing arm differing.

Key Feature #8

Controller Options

  • The frame is compatible with a wide range of controller brands, including:
    • Fardriver
    • Nucular
    • Votol
    • Sabvoton
    • Kelly
    • Other brands (e.g., Adaptto, Crystalyte, etc.)
  • The frame features a standardized mounting position designed to accommodate a controller bracket. Each controller type has its own bracket, ensuring a sleek appearance and a secure connection to the frame.
Key Feature #9

Advanced Swing Arm Design

  • Lighter and longer swing arm for improved stability;
  • New mounting options for various motor types, with standard drop-out widths (155mm for hub motors; 150 or 200 mm for mid-drive);
  • Adjustable height options on the rear shock bracket accommodate different rider sizes.
Key Feature #10

Compatibility & Customisation

  • Compatible with older Q76 Qulbix® versions for easy upgrades;
  • Multiple controller installation options (inside or outside frame) with protective covers and brackets available.
Key Feature #11

Ignition & Safety Features

  • Watertight key switch;
  • A “Lock Catch Ring” or “Steering Lock Bracket” as part of the frame.
Key Feature #12

Geometry & Suspension

  • Designed for stability across various terrains, with a 64° steering head angle and adjustable height;
  • Recommended FastAce suspension for smooth handling and performance.
Key Feature #13

Braking System

The brakes feature 4-piston calipers with adjustable levers and a large mineral oil reservoir with an oil level indicator. The 203 mm diameter disc rotors are 2.4 mm thick, providing strong stopping power, preventing fading, warping, and squeaking, while offering greater resistance to bending. Additionally, the brakes include brake activation switches (depending on the model) to control brake lights or cut power when the PAS (pedal assist) system is engaged.

Key Feature #14

Lighting & 12V Electrical Options

Transform your ride into a street-ready powerhouse with our premium 12V components and DC-DC converter, reducing battery voltage (up to 84V) to 12V. Our selection of lights, blinkers, horns, and brackets ensures a smooth upgrade for road readiness. For top performance and safety, choose our motorbike-grade e-mark front headlamp, tail-light with brake and license plate lights, and a specially designed headlamp bracket set with horn and blinkers.

Key Feature #15

Footing & Crank Options

  • Foot pegs and pedals can be chosen based on preference;
  • Two crank lengths (120 mm or 170 mm) and chain wheel sizes (single 46T or dual stage 30-12-30T overdrive) available for tailored performance.
Key Feature #16

Adjustable Kickstand With an Optional Kill-Switch

The adjustable kickstand features a two-part leg, allowing you to adjust its length. When the kickstand is down (parked), it activates a kill-switch to disable the motor, preventing the vehicle from moving while parked or during charging (if the key switch is on and the throttle is accidentally turned). This serves as a safety feature.
